Default Support Engineer

We love automation. We design and build innovative robotic systems and laboratory devices used by pharmaceutical and biotech companies and academic research laboratories. HighRes Biosolutions helps scientists accelerate drug discovery, high throughput genotyping, siRNA screening, next-generation sequencing sample prep, biorepository science and molecular diagnostics with highly flexible, expandable and modular integrated systems, bench-top devices and consumables that are easily configured (and reconfigured) to create research environments conducive to achieving breakthrough results.

Support Engineer

A Support Engineer works to commission and calibrate robotics and laboratory automation devices to meet internal and customer specifications. The qualified candidate should have proficiency with measuring devices, mechanical debugging skills, and machine components knowledge. The qualified individual will work closely with software and electrical engineers to commission and perform QC on robotics and instrumentation. This position will also involve travel to customer sites when needed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Proficiency working on and calibrating robotics and laboratory automation devices.
• Proficiency with “hands on” mechanical debugging skills and machine components knowledge.
• Experience commissioning devices and performing QC for appropriate customer specs.
• Commissioning systems and devices experience is required.
• Basic hand tool experience is required.
• Work closely with electrical engineers, firmware development and mechanical engineers.
• Ability to adjust accordingly based on specific customer requirements.
• In-house and field service of HVAC devices

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• BS in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering a plus.
• Familiarity with pneumatic control systems.
• HVAC /cooling 3-5 years service or formal training required.
• Requires high attention to detail.
• HVAC experience required.
• All work product documents must be publication/presentation worthy.
• Excellent problem solving skills, required to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively.
• Work effectively as team member and individually.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computers is required.
• Travel could be up to 50%.
