Head, RNAi Core Facility, Sloan-Kettering Institute

The Sloan-Kettering Institute (SKI) is seeking to fill a position to lead its RNA interference (RNAi) Core Facility (RCF). SKI offers a highly interactive basic, translational and clinical cancer-focused research environment (www.ski.edu) and is located in a multi-institutional academic community. This is a non-tenure laboratory track position, fully supported by the Institution.
Description: The RCF Head will oversee all core operations, including supervision of core staff, maintaining databases, as well as protocol development and troubleshooting. The Head will be a point of contact with academic users, providing consultation in vector construction, RNAi library design, and the design and execution of RNAi screens. The Core Head will be responsible for assuring that established standards of quality are met and that the facility remains state-of-the art. He/she will perform administrative duties that include preparation of reports, budgets and charge backs to facility users.
Qualifications: Applicants must have Ph.D. in Biology or other related areas and several years of post-graduate experience in molecular biology. Evidence of productivity in academia or industry is essential. Previous experience in the RNAi field and/or the use of high throughput screening approaches is desirable, as is previous management experience.
