SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Corporate Marketing and Communications is responsible for directing the marketing communications function for the company, as well as overseeing the investor relations and public relations programs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a listing of the results/accomplishments expected in performing this job and the job’s essential or most important functions and responsibilities by which people achieve the results.

• Develop and manage the global branding strategy for Caliper Life Sciences. Utilize internal and external resources to craft and communicate branding initiatives.
• Develop and maintain the organization’s overall marketing strategy and budget.
• Works closely with the marketing, sales and business development teams at both strategic and tactical levels for strategic planning, messaging and project execution.
• Drive proactive and continuous communication among business partners to ensure active and informed involvement on corporate-wide marketing and branding initiatives.
• Partner with internal product marketing and sales groups to maximize the product offerings and corresponding brand recognition and messaging and to drive lead generation activities such as e-blasts, web marketing, social media, print advertising, trade shows, etc.
• Deliver periodic tangible metrics associated with budget, branding, and communications performance.
• Maintain close contact with customer groups to build relationships, solicit regular feedback, and understand customer needs and perceptions.
• Identify key metrics for success and manage marketing efforts against metrics.
• Hire, motivate, coach, develop and manage the overall performance of the Marketing team.
• Develop relationships with key individuals in the industry.
• Help develop the core positioning and messaging for the products.
• Develop and implement investor relations programs to broaden and increase communication with current and prospective shareholders.
• Develop corporate presentations for investor conferences.
• Prepare press releases, scripts for conference calls, annual report, and other corporate collateral.
• Responsible for content of corporate website.
• Organize and frequently participate in management/investor road shows.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises department of 4-7 employees in the Marketing Communications group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing issues and resolving problems.

Requirements:

• MBA or BS, with minimum 5 years communications experience, preferably in life sciences industry
• Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to be gracious and tactful “under fire.”
• Skilled in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• The ability to build and sustain positive business relationships internally and externally is a must.
• Some travel, including international trips, required.
