Biodirect Inc., located in Taunton, MA, a fast growing, fast paced provider of strategic technology solutions is seeking an experienced service engineer/managers for both field and in-house service of multi-vendor laboratory instrumentation; Biodirect is seeking to fill four positions immediatelly. Biodirect is a provider technical solutions specializing in lab automation, HTS, and detection systems.
FUNCTION
Under the direction of the director of operations & unit manager, the qualified person will provide technical evaluation and repairs on various biomedical lab and research equipment using common hand tools, meters and testing equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide in-house & field service, repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, installation & integration of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain & manage service records & documentation.
• Manage assigned in-house service & field service operations.
• Provide prompt & professional telephone technical support & customer service.
• Provide product & technical training to new service engineers.
• Provide on-site & in-house product demonstrations.
• Maintain & manage service related tools & equipment.
• Product research & development/design.
• Apply & develop time saving cost effective service procedures.
• Apply & develop quality control & assurance procedures.
• Attend technical training courses & trade shows if required.
• Must be available for travel domestically up to 35% of the time.
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree/professional training in Biomedical Engineering/Chemistry/Biology, or other related fields.
• Experience in repairing & maintaining laboratory equipment & systems.
• A minimum 3-5 years of industry related service or support experience.
• Previous manufacturer related service experience (e.g.: Agilent, Beckman, Biotek, Caliper, Kendro, Molecular Devices, Perkin Elmer, Tecan, Thermo, Velocity 11, Zymark, etc.).
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
• Experience in laboratory/research instrumentation use & applications.
• Knowledge in systems integration and knowledge of programming language.
• Experience in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is helpful.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Good verbal and written communications skills are needed and the ability to work well under pressure.
• A willingness to learn various product & system types is a must.
• Military background is a plus.
