Located in the exciting Singapore Biopolis, LSCDD’s multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team is working to redefine the leading edge. We are looking for outstanding individuals with demonstrated industry experience to fill the following position:

Position: Laboratory Automation Engineer
Work Location: Singapore

Responsibilities

Setup, maintain, troubleshoot and coordinate service calls with field engineers on various pieces of laboratory automation (advanced mechanical/electrical/software training will be provided to the selected candidate)
Perform routine validation and maintenance of automated liquid handlers, plate handlers and readers (i.e. Tecan, Perkin-Elmer, Qiagen, Biotek, etc.)
Convert manual methods to automated methods for Laboratory Scientists (robotic script writing)
Interactions with Biologists in a biology environment.

Note: On the job training by an experienced Automation Engineer and Vendor training will be provided.


Requirements

BSc with 1+ years experience.
In-depth knowledge of the MS Windows XP operating system is a must.
Programming skills in Visual Basic/Excel VBA database system concepts is a plus.
Willing to learn, autonomy, resourcefulness, critical thinking and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
Familiarity with laboratory safety and general laboratory practices is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude.
