The Rockefeller University, a leading biomedical Research Institute, is seeking a Research Support Assistant to join our High Throughput Screening Resource Center. The successful candidate will assist and support the Director of the High-Throughput Screening Resource Center (HTSRC) and share responsibility for the conduct of effective and successful technical operations in the center. Responsibilities include storing, securing, and delivering appropriately formatted compound libraries for HTS using automated instruments, maintaining and upgrading the IT infrastructure, databases, and analytical software/hardware, maintaining and upgrading laboratory instrumentation and automation, providing guidance to the HTSRC users in the use and maintenance of lab instrumentation, quality control testing, and developing QC protocols, optimizing automated microtiter plate processing procedures, scheduling screening jobs and user access depending on available resources, providing written bi-monthly reports on the use of the HTSRC to the Director, maintaining an appropriate and suitable inventory of laboratory disposables, assisting and consulting with the Director in data analysis, technology and infrastructure improvements to the HTSRC, and in the evaluation of new technologies, assisting and supporting the Director in promoting Center use policies, managing and focusing available resources towards the objectives as set forth by the Director, consulting with and assisting the Director on HTSCRC planning, improvement, status, and budgeting, and supporting a clean, safe, organized and effective working environment.

Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in biology, chemistry, or engineering preferred. Must have a general knowledge of High-Throughput Screening assay technologies and a minimum of two years experience with laboratory instrumentation, automation, and IT. Must also have strong communication and good customer service skills. Must be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Job description:
Manage and operate a high throughput screening (HTS) facility in the laboratory and participate in research projects. Interpret, and analyze results using prescribed methods or developing new techniques.

Qualifications:
MS. or higher in Biological Sciences or related field required. Hands on experience with high throughput screening (HTS), operation and management of instrumentation or chemical facility, assay/technology development highly preferred.
