Dr. Stephen Scypinski received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from Seton Hall University. Involved in analytical chemistry research and applications for over 19 years, Dr. Scypinski has held positions at Exxon Research and Engineering Co., Varian Instrument Group and Berlex Laboratories and Hoffmann-La Roche. He is currently Director of the Analytical Development Department at The R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute. His responsibilities and research interests encompass the development and validation of analytical methods for drug substances and dosage forms, technical transfer to quality units, new analytical technology as applied to the reduction of cycle time in drug development, drug chemistry, spectroscopy and laboratory automation. Dr. Scypinski is also active in the analytical community, having served as General Chairman of the Eastern Analytical Symposium and Chairman of the Laboratory Robotics Interest Group of New Jersey. He is the 1994 recipient of the New Jersey Institute of Chemists Honor Scroll Award and is on the editorial review board for several analytical chemistry journals.
